I love DIY. I love everything about the whole concept of it. The satisfaction of making something yourself is an awesome feeling.
But I’m also not very creative and pretty lazy.
So I rely on DIY websites for inspiration. Lucky for me, there are a ton of them out there. Search any topic + DIY on Pinterest, and you get a billion options. There are even DIY instructions for making your own DIY website! It’s amazing the amount of info out there, but it can be overwhelming.
Luckily, I have sacrificed many hours scouring the web looking for my favorite DIY websites. Here they are, in no particular order. Enjoy and get inspired!
This website has it all: make a lamp, build a garden bed, bake cookies, install tile. And each topic has several different article offerings, so if you aren’t sure exactly what you are looking for, just search for a generic topic, like countertops, and decide from there what you want to learn more about.
So much technical and expert advice on this site. The monthly Maintenance To Do Lists are awesome, and there are tips to declutter closets, update laundry rooms and tons more. This is SJ’s go-to site for his DIY projects too.
I like HGTV’s website for inspiration. I think there are better places to find actual tutorials and instructions for projects, but I seriously love browsing this site for trendy decor ideas. It’s a great place to find out what colors are hot this season and how to use them in your home. It’s also got great garden inspiration and daydream inspiring furniture and lighting pieces regularly distract me from actual productive work.
Author Kelly has been away for about a year, but yay! She’s posting again. Her real-life projects and updates are really amazing to see, and because she’s got kids, her home has to be functional and comfortable for different ages. Based on her blog, she’s accomplishing that and then some! So many great ideas here, it makes me want to change ALL THE THINGS in my own home.
Plants are my thing. I have plans to use more plants than anything else to decorate our new home. But. I have no idea where to start and I’m clueless when it comes to things like zones, light levels, water needs, pet-friendly, etc. So this website is a huge help to me and those like me. Not just a DIY site, but there is a DIY section with lots of ideas and how-tos to keep me happy. The Garden to Table section has yummy recipes too, so bonus.
